How Does the Vasculaze Laser Vein Device Work?

Vasculaze is a laser used to treat both leg and facial veins. It targets vascular lesions in the skin to remove red, blue and green vein appearance. The laser targets hemoglobin (a protein found in the red blood cell) to damage the pigment in veins visible at the surface of the skin. The pigment is what creates the green, blue or red color of the veins. Once these pigmented areas are destroyed, the body will absorb the pigment. This reduces the visibility of the surface veins.

How Many Laser Treatments Will I Need?

Typically 3-4 treatments are need to fully eliminate the appearance of the superficial veins on the skin, while some lesions will only respond to more treatments. The amount of sessions needed will depend on the severity and size of the area.

Prior to a Vasculaze laser treatment, a local anesthetic may be applied to the affected area. Some patients experience a slight sensation when the beam penetrates the vein, but the cooling system alleviates the feeling of heat, and the anesthesia numbs the area of treatment. Slight improvements may be noticeable after the initial treatment. The skin may appear clearer and smoother on the surface of the treated area. Vasculaze is safe and effective in targeting vascular lesions. All lasers carry a slight risk of bruising, skin redness, blistering or burns to the skin. However, Vasculaze is very safe and effective and risks of any significant injury is rare. Side effects may include, discomfort, redness, swelling, blistering or crusting. Bruising may occur after treatment as well.
